Criss Cross Commercial is the management entity for a group of family-owned, closely-held entities engaged in real estate related businesses.  These companies have been doing business in Houston, Texas since 1973.

Criss Cross, on behalf of its affiliates, leases and manages commercial real estate, develops new real estate projects, and originates and services commercial loans.

The affiliated companies owned and operated automobile service stations in Houston for many years.  Founder and principal Danny Desai operated the River Oaks Texaco at Westheimer and River Oaks Blvd., now the site of Regions Bank.  He later owned and managed Danny's Auto, a service station at Chimney Rock and Westheimer, which still operates today.

Over the years, the companies also provided loans and investment capital to other local entrepreneurs, particularly start-up businesses.  Today, many local business people owe their start to funding provided by Mr. Desai.

The companies' real estate holdings eventually expanded to include a variety of types of retail real estate assets.  In 2001, the affiliated companies began concerted expansion into multi-tenant retail properties, including retail development.

In 2005, Criss Cross Commercial Group was formed to organize and streamline operations of its related companies.

Today, with development and redevelopment projects ongoing both in and outside of the Houston area, Criss Cross is dedicated to maintaining a strong, stable financial position, with prudent growth through pursuit of new business opportunities.
